Dental Implants Norcross, GA
Dental implants offer a long-lasting and reliable solution for replacing missing teeth, whether you need to restore a single tooth, several teeth or a complete set. At our practice, we use implants to help you regain the full function, health and appearance of your smile. Each dental implant consists of a small titanium post surgically placed into your jawbone. Acting as an artificial tooth root, the post provides a solid foundation for your new restoration while also promoting bone health.
Once the implant is placed, your jawbone will naturally begin to bond with the post through a process called osseointegration. This healing period ensures the implant becomes securely anchored, providing strength and durability similar to a natural tooth root. After this healing phase, we will attach your custom-made restoration, which may be a dental crown, bridge or denture, depending on your unique needs.
Dental implants are designed to blend seamlessly with your natural smile, giving you confidence in both appearance and function. Whether you need a crown to replace a single tooth or a bridge or denture to restore multiple teeth, each restoration is carefully crafted to fit comfortably and look natural. Implants also help prevent common issues associated with missing teeth, such as bone loss and shifting of surrounding teeth.
One of the key benefits of dental implants is their ability to feel and function like natural teeth. They allow you to eat, speak and smile with ease, all without worrying about shifting dentures or removable appliances. With proper care, including regular dental visits and good oral hygiene, implants can last a lifetime, making them a sound long-term investment in your oral health.
If you are considering dental implants, we are here to guide you through every step of the process. Our experienced team will assess your oral health, create a personalized treatment plan, and help you understand all your options.
The Vincent Dental Implant Difference
Many dentists can place implants, but few do it with the dedication to quality that Dr. Vincent has. You might be curious about learning more about implants, and you have come to the right place!
Implants consist of three parts:
- The titanium screw that goes into the socket of your missing tooth and integrates with your jawbone
- The abutment which attaches the screw to the crown
- The dental crown that is placed over the abutment and is designed to fit comfortably to your adjacent teeth while looking like a natural tooth.
Implants can be made of multiple metal alloys. The long-term success of implants is dictated by two factors: biofunctionality and biocompatibility. Titanium implants have long been considered the most biofunctional and biocompatible, and Dr. Vincent uses only 100% titanium, United States made implants for patients.
Implant success is also determined by how well implants heal. Dr. Vincent always utilizes Leukocyte and Platelet Rich Fibrin, or LPRF for short. LPRF is a method of using the body’s own platelets, growth factors and leukocytes (white blood cells) to facilitate healing.
How does it work?
A small amount of your blood is taken and spun in a centrifuge where the plasma and platelets are isolated and concentrated from the other elements in your blood. The platelets are then gently placed in the surgical site to help you heal better and faster.
The concentration of platelets and leukocytes are released for up to 14 days after they are placed on the surgical site. The area is then encapsulated with either a removable or resorbable membrane to protect the site.
One week after the surgery we bring patients back to see how the healing is going. Membranes are typically removed after one month, and the implant itself usually is osseo-integrated in four to six months. When Dr. Vincent confirms the implant site is healed, the implant is ready to support the abutment and crown. A healing abutment is placed at this time to ready the implant for the final restoration, and then the final abutment and crown are ready to be placed in two weeks!
Our success rate with implants is excellent, and that is largely due to the years of expertise, dedication to sourcing the best materials for our patients, and the techniques Dr. Vincent has been honing for years. Do not settle for less!
